ESDO's Green Club is filming a documentary!!!

Members from ESDO's Green Club are currently filming a documentary on climate change in Bangladesh . The documentary will capture stories of how communities are experiencing and adapting to the devastating environmental impacts. Bangladesh will be one of the countries most affected by climate change in the future!!!

The Green Club have conducted interviews with farmers who are vulnerable to the impacts of extreme weather events, and have already learnt a significant amount about the reality of climate change in various regions of Bangladesh. This experience has made them deeply perceptive to the issue.

Purpose of the project

• To encourage youth to be actively involved in the issue of climate change, and to address climate change in a meaningful way through the making of a documentary.
• To advocate and create mass awareness about climate change amongst school groups and institutions in Bangladesh .

Activities

• Green Club members will visit affected regions (Sylhet, Katakhali and Rajshahi) and speak to people who are experiencing implications of climate change.
• Members will participate in workshops on documentary making. They will take charge in creating a storyline, and filming.

Proposed Outcomes

• A motivated and transformed Green Club who will continue advocating for the environment and conducting activities in their schools and community.
• A documentary that the young generation can relate to and be motivated by.
• Community mobilization

ESDO's documentary on climate change is a working project with Green Club students, who want to contribute to environmental conservation. By participating in this project and producing their own documentary the Green Club are embarking on a significant learning journey, they are being actively involved in creating mass awareness, and building their leadership skills.
