Rashida

ESDO
has initiated eco-villages in two areas of Bangladesh.
In
1995, an eco-village was initiated at the rural village Charhogla
in the Narayanganj
district, which has a population of about 7,500. People were
given skills and capacities to adopt an environment-friendly
life, and in turn were ensured of improvements in their quality
of life. It is based on an integrated program designed for
an overall development.
Other
eco-villages were initiated in 1999 in the Northern district
of Rangpur, in the communities
of Charani Sherpur/ Betgari.
