New Books Distributed among the ALP learners in Eco-village-2

By June'05 ESDO distributed new books "Shaksharata" part II, among the Adult Literacy Program (ALP) learners at the eco-village-2 project area of Betgari & Charani of Gangachara, Rangpur.

ESDO launched this 9-month program on February 2005 as a part of its project activities. Now they are on their halfway of learning. The books are the component of phase II of this learning program. There are four centers with 100 learners at Betgari and Charani villages at the project area. More than 80 sets of books have been distributed among them, as well as, the teachers of this program. The learners are carrying on their learning with great enthusiasm. <ESDO NEWS>

Distributed Matching Grant Support Among 22 Group Members

By July'05 ESDO distributed matching grant support among 22 group members at the eco-village-2 project area of Betgari & Charani of Gangachara, Rangpur. ESDO launched this program as supportive issue to upgrade their socio-economic level with easy ways.

Piloting an Eco-village-1 at Sonargaon Upazilla of Narayangonj District

The project aim is to introduce safe and sustainable practices for human development and nature conservation. As part of the project ESDO had organized two focus group discussion at eco-village-1 project area at Charhogla village of Sonargaon to share it's objectives with the local elites and influential bodies including UP Members, Imam, school teachers, businessmen and of other professionals by July'05. The objective behind the focus group discussion was to involve local people into the project. All of the participants were pleased with the project objectives and showed willingness to work with ESDO team at Charhogla of Sonargaon. After the successful meeting with local bodies, Dr. Hossain Shahriar distributed saplings among the participants.
